Cooperation with Public Authorities

Pursuant to the provisions of Law 4496/2017, REWARDING RECYCLING concludes contracts with Public Authorities for the implementation of Alternative Management programs.

Hellenic Police

The Hellenic Police is the first State entity that has fulfilled the legal obligation for the "Sorting of Packaging at the Source", as defined by Law 4496/2017, in cooperation with the National Non-Profit Agency REWARDING RECYCLING.

The Rewarding Recycling Program, launched in major Police Services and spreading throughout the country, is active in the packaging recycling sector and offers a substantial reimbursement of €0.03 per item of metal, plastic or glass packaging.

The total amount of the reimbursement supports the "Assistance Account for orphaned children of police, fire brigade and permanent civil servants of the Greek Police and the Fire Brigade, Border Guards and Special Guards".

Ministry of National Defense

The Ministry of National Defense has begun an "Integrated Program for Actions in Rewarding Recycling of the Ministry of National Defense" in collaboration with the National Non-Profit Agency REWARDING RECYCLING and the American company ENVIPCO. The Ministry wishes to contribute to the strengthening its social contribution, both in the local communities in which it has its offices, but on a wider scope too, to participate actively in actions of environmental interest.

The "Rewarding Recycling Program" started with the placement of the 1st Integrated Rewarding Recycling Center on the Ministry's premises and gathers packaging recycling.

The innovation and the uniqueness of the Program is the implementation of "Sorting at the Source", while providing a substantial reimbursement, amounting to €0.03 per metal, plastic or glass item of packaging.

The total money will be used to strengthen the social actions of the Ministry of National Defense.

Prosecutor’s Office at the Supreme Court of Greece

The launch of the "Integrated Program for Actions in Rewarding Recycling of the Prosecutor’s Office at the Supreme Court of Greece" was crowned a resounding success, in cooperation with the National Non-Profit Agency REWARDING RECYCLING and with the civil non-profit company ALLIANCE FOR GREECE.

This program of the Prosecutor’s Office at the Supreme Court of Greece, all plastic, metal and glass packaging used within the premises and the premises housing the country's Prosecutors' Offices, fulfilling the legal obligation to recycle packaging as per Law 4496/2017.

The total amount reimbursed (€0.03 per packaging item) is provided by the National Collective  System REWARDING RECYCLING for collected recyclable packaging. This will reinforce an extremely important social goal, to strengthen its resources:

- PLE "EPANODOS" of the Ministry of Justice, Transparency and Human Rights, whose goal is the professional training of prisoners and ex-prisoners, their rehabilitation, financial support, as well as the preparation and promotion of their social reintegration in general.

It is noted that the Social Cooperative Enterprise (SCE) "New Horizons" as a Social Solidarity Economy Institution, implementing a plan of action for unemployed people released from prison into the labor market. The SCE will undertake the collection and transport of recyclable packaging material consumed within the Prosecutors' Offices of the whole country at "recycling kiosks", but also in "Environmental Education and Rewarding Recycling Parks".

Urban Rail Transport

Within the framework of the Recycling Program a special train will be introduced to the Urban Rail Transport network for a two-year period. This will circulate the message for people to recycle and to protect the environment.

Informing and raising awareness of the benefits of recycling among millions of citizens who use the more ecological means of transportation (METRO, ELECTRIC RAILWAY, TRAMS) contributes to the protection of the environment. It also offers the option of recycling packaging to passengers, in "Rewarding Recycling Kiosks". Urban public transport passengers will be able to earn a monthly sum by recycling in "Rewarding Recycling Kiosks" operating at Urban Rail Transport stations:

Urban Rail Transport will be our country's 1st public utility and the 2nd Institution after the Hellenic Police, which will fulfill the legal obligation to recycle packaging as per Law 4496/2017 for "Sorting at the Source", in collaboration with the National Non-Profit Agency "REWARDING RECYCLING".
