Second Guinness World Record for Rewarding Recycling

Second Guinness World Record for Rewarding Recycling

The effort of the National Collective System REWARDING RECYCLING, in collaboration with the Holy Metropolis of Ioannina and the Charitable Organization of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens "APOSTOLI", was crowned a resounding success, and achieved a second Guinness World Record for the "most plastic bottles recycled in one week".

The achievement was completed only a few days after Rewarding Recycling received the Guinness World Record for Recycling glass items of packaging collected and recycled in a week!

It is noted that this new record breaks the already existing record of 39,000 kg, which was unbroken since 2012. This time the amount of packaging collected and recycled exceeded 54,000 kg!

More specifically, the new Guinness World Record achieved was for the collection and recycling of 54,275 kg of plastic packaging and lasted from 30/5/2019 to 6/6/2019!

The Contribution of the Holy Metropolis of Ioannina

It is noted that the recycling of plastic bottles took place in the automated high-tech Rewarding Recycling Centers operating in the "Recycling and Environmental Education Park of Ioannina", which started its operation a most promising message for the protection of the environment and the assistance of citizens in that venture. The "Rewarding Recycling Complex" was inaugurated a few days ago by His Beatitude the Archbishop of Athens and All of Greece, Ieronymos II.

It must be graciously noted that this achievement, the winning of the Guinness World Record was achieved with the unparalleled contribution of the Holy Metropolis of Ioannina, which mobilized dozens of volunteers and priests for the weighing and recycling of plastic packaging collected.
