Integrated Rewarding Recycling Program of the Ministry of National Defense

The Ministry of National Defense has begun an "Integrated Rewarding Recycling Program” in collaboration with the National Non-Profit Agency REWARDING RECYCLING and the American company ENVIPCO. The Ministry wishes to contribute to the strengthening its social contribution, both in the local communities in which it has its offices, but on a wider scope too, to participate actively in actions of environmental interest.

The "Rewarding Recycling Program" started with the placement of the 1st Integrated Rewarding Recycling Center on the Ministry's premises and gathers packaging recycling.

The innovation and the uniqueness of the Program is the implementation of "Sorting at the Source", while providing a substantial reimbursement, amounting to €0.03 per metal, plastic or glass item of packaging.

The Minister of National Defense, Mr Panos Kammenos took the initiative to start the Rewarding Recycling Program and inaugurated it.

 
The event was attended by the US Former Ambassador to Greece, Mr. Geoffrey R. Pyatt, who stressed that today's celebration marks yet another success, underlining the strength of the US relationship with Greece on multiple fronts, including and the important sector of trade and investment. At the same time, he highlighted the importance of the production of ENVIPCO's high-tech recycling machines in Greece, making Greece a hub for all of Europe.


The President of the Board of Directors of the National Collective System of ANTI-RECYCLING RECYCLING, Mr. Pavlos Ravanis felt proud that REWARDING RECYCLING contributes to the Innovative Recycling Program for packaging disposed of at the Ministry of National Defense, as the total money will be used to strengthen the social actions of the Ministry of National Defense.
